Registration Process
Candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses in Maharashtra need to complete the counselling registration process. Follow the steps below for successful registration.
Step 1: Apply Online
- Visit www.mahacet.org and click on the “Apply Online for NEET-UG 2025” link.
- Carefully read all instructions, then click “NEXT.”
- Fill out the application form accurately, including your mobile number and email ID.
- Verify your mobile number with the OTP sent to you.
- Complete the form, agree to the declaration, and click “I Agree” to submit.
- Create a password during submission.
Step 2: Fee Payment
- Pay the required fee online as per your category.
- Note that bank transaction charges will be extra.
- Save and print the fee payment receipt for future reference.
Step 3: Verify and Download Application
- Log in using your application number and password.
- Verify your application details.
- Download and save a copy of your application form and fee receipt for future use.
Counselling Process
Follow these steps to complete the Maharashtra NEET UG counselling process.
Step 1: Eligibility and Registration
- Candidates who have cleared NEET UG 2025 are eligible for the CAP rounds.
- Register online within the given timeframe. Registration is allowed before both Rounds 1 and 3.
Step 2: Counselling Rounds
The selection process includes multiple CAP rounds:
Round 1
- Preference Filling: Submit fresh choices of colleges based on location, infrastructure, and reputation.
- Seat Acceptance Options:
- Joining and Upgradation: Accept the seat but participate in the next round for a higher preference.
- Status Retention: Submit the Status Retention Form if satisfied with the seat, indicating you won’t participate in further rounds.
- Non-Joining: If you don’t join, you remain eligible for Round 2.
Round 2
- Available Seats: Includes unfilled seats from Round 1 and vacated seats due to cancellations.
- Eligibility: Candidates who missed registration in Round 1.
- Candidates not allotted a seat or whose seat was canceled in Round 1.
- Candidates who joined Round 1 but didn’t opt for Status Retention.
- Fresh Choices: Submit new preferences as choices from Round 1 won’t carry forward.
- Joining: If allotted a seat, join the college or participate in Round 3 for an upgrade.
Round 3
- Available Seats: Includes unfilled seats from earlier rounds and vacated seats due to non-joining.
- Eligibility:
- Candidates who missed registration in Rounds 1 and 2.
- Candidates not allotted a seat in previous rounds or who didn’t retain their seat.
- Fresh Choices: Submit new preferences as earlier rounds’ choices aren’t considered.
- Joining: Joining the allotted seat is mandatory.
Step 3: Mop-Up and Stray Vacancy Rounds
- Mop-Up Round: Conducted for leftover seats after Round 3. Fresh registrations and choice submissions are required.
- Stray Vacancy Round: Conducted online for any remaining vacant seats. Only candidates without a seat are eligible to participate.
